Good Shepherd was established in 1984 as a Bible Study which met in the home of the founding Pastor, Art McPhee. Now we meet in our own building which is shared by Ruach Isreal (a Messianic Jewish Congregation) and the Greater Boston Baptist Association (a Home Missions Headquarters).
We are affiliated with and accountable to the Harvest Fellowship of Churches, a newly formed organization of evangelical Anabaptist congregations in New England. We also relate closely with Easter Mennonite Missions, which serves as an advisory resource and helps us with our overall missions efforts.
Our Pastor, the Rev. Darrell Minnich, joined us in July of 1994. He has been involved in church leadership since 1979, serving congregations in Ohio and Connecticut. His most recent efforts were with a Laotian mission church in Hartford, CT. He and his wife, June, have two sons: Daniel and Philip. They live in Needham.
Mennonites trace their roots to the 16th century Protestant Reformation in Europe and were nicknamed after an early Dutch leader, Menno Simons. Fired by their new faith, the movement grew as believers joined with others of like persuasion in South Germany and the Netherlands.
